Brand and product for Bitcoin life insurance

Meanwhile is the only life insurance plan (a concept that’s been around for centuries) denominated in Bitcoin (a concept many of us are still wrapping our heads around).

After their 2022 funding round led by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Squero worked on Meanwhile’s messaging, brand, and logged‑in product flows for screening and application.

Meanwhile operates under a license granted by the Bermuda Monetary Authority, which presented its own unique constraints for how the product could (and could not) be marketed in the United States and other countries.

Since we worked together, Meanwhile has raised a $40 million Series A from Framework Ventures and Fulgur Ventures, nearly double what it was valued during its seed round.

Make it clear

Life insurance is complicated enough. The initial messaging work helped make the website and onboarding experience clear and concise.

There’s a glyph for that!

Naming a company a “real”, natural word like Meanwhile is very rare these days. We used the ellipsis as a secondary symbol to perfectly complement the Meanwhile logotype.

Switch the time scale

Life insurance is for those who like to play the long game. That’s why awe‑inspiring images of geological formations–canyons, glaciers, rock strata–are a cornerstone of the Meanwhile brand identity.
